The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) offers a unique opportunity and experience to assist with the development and growth of this one-of-a-kind service organization.
The IABD Nonprofit Arts Administration Program is suited to the graduate, undergraduate student or recently graduated student interested in pursuing a career on the business side of the dance industry. The program provides students with hands-on opportunities and training in Communications (Marketing/Public Relations, Social Media), Development and Fundraising (Grant Writing and Reporting, Donor Cultivation and Stewardship), Executive Affairs (Archives, Board Development, Business and Finance, Human Resources), Membership (Retention, Recruitment, Engagement) and Programs (Annual International Conference/Festival, On The 1 | dance class series, EVOLVE | dance summit, etc).

With IABD's Nonprofit Arts Administration Program, you are considered a Team Member. Guided by IABD staff, you will work alongside each of the Directors and Managers in our various Departments. Choose one or more that best matches your interests and focus/learn an area completely new — or consider changing your placement midway through the program to maximize your experience.

During our program, you will have access to a myriad of professionals from a variety of dance genres and organizations, who are actively involved with IABD's programs. You will meet national and international leaders and build vital relationships within the Association. This network includes more than 3,500 dance professionals located across the world. Be ready to jump right in as a Team Member!
YOUR SUCCESS STORY CONTINUES WITH IABD
You’ve already mastered your academic studies and proven you’re a leader. Take your career to the next level by applying for a IABD Fellowship or Internship today. The Fellowship is a one-year commitment to the Association beginning the month of February/March each year. An Internship typically runs the course of 3-6 months, during the Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer.
